Prayers for Enlightenment

A keyboard typing game where you have to prove your faith to the goddess of mercy!

Custom and Dynamic Text

I used a custom font called QaoInk for most of the UI and included a countdown timer in the game!

List and Loops

I used a list to store all of the phrases for the game to pull from to get the one that the player needs to type out! I used a for loop to shuffle the elements inside of the list so that it would be randomized.

Communication

I've added various sound effects and a visual effect to communicate to the player! There is a sparkling and happy twinkling sound that triggers when you successfully finish typing a phrase, alongside an error-type sound when you're inputting the wrong key.  Hearts also appear onscreen briefly when you've finished typing a phrase, connecting your actions to the affection meter which you need to fill up to win.

Freshness

I've never made a typing game before and getting to learn what the code for this gameplay was really fun to learn! This is probably the most conditions and functions I've had for one mechanic, and adapting it for what I wanted taught me a lot!
